It takes courage to stand up for what is right. Especially when the political right is so wrong right now. Proud to be a Democrat.
Everyone has to deal with what they create. I have always been a big believer in karma, and now you are just starting to see the political karma start to become evident. So many of us do not ever want the government to have any say in our personal lives. What about the pursuit of happiness & of course freedom?
Freedom requires eternal vigilance.
Freedom means everyone's freedom.
Freedom of religion means freedom from religion.
Know thy place politicians.
I would also love to see the democrats promote a site where you could purchase products made in America. Showing that we are pro America which we are is a good way to have positive PR, especially with Rural America. This a way to show our values without changing them, because they are good values to begin with.
Again, deeds not words.
Al Franken, Phil Donahue, Ron Reagan, Charles Grodan, Janeane Garofalo, etc.
Then a show called Common Ground where we bring blue and red together to discuss what common ground issues we have.
Debate shows with real debate, discussion, etc.
Plus we need to show our values at work. Most of my democrat friends liberal or not tend to be very generous people. Like myself, they donate time, money and energy to amazing wonderful causes.
I personally have a sponsor child through Christian Children's Fund, and currently I am emailing, writing and sending care packages to 12 soldiers that I met through booksforsoldiers.com. This is a great site and I encourage anyone to visit and send at least one package to a soldier it will make your day, and theirs. (I used amazon to send books, CD's & DVD's).
My Republican sister-in-law holier than thou was surprised at what we do for the troops being we opposed the war. Amazing how some people can't figure out how you support the troops without being for the war. Anyway, I digress.
We need to be more vocal about and show our values. Going to church doesn't make you a good person, just as not going doesn't make you a bad person, it is deeds not words. Our example of compassion and our values needs to be visible too.
Just some ideas, maybe Soro's and some others could consider getting together to bring us Dem TV. With 55 million Kerry voters in this country does anyone smell democracy and free enterprise at work??
Voting machines that can't be validated in OH & FL, something seems a little off or strange, doesn't it?
How could the exit polling be so off that showed earlier a Kerry win? Do I smell a skunk in our midst? Any thoughts?
An no matter what the outcome, the fight is still on to take back our country. By the time the Republicans mess it ALL up in the next two years, just watch what happens in 2006!
Take a moment and be proud of what has been accomplished, think positive and get out the vote.
